Johnny’s Virtual Reality World

You are invited to join Johnny’s virtual reality world and help make it something truly wonderful for all of us.

Johnny is the principal character in my novel in progress – Johnny Oops, and even though some people doubt that he is real, he is as real as he can be, and he has a terrific imagination.

How about you? Do you have a terrific imagination? If so please help us by suggesting things that will help make Johnny’s virtual reality world a real success so that it will become your world too; a special playground of the mind just for you.

What would you like to have in your new virtual reality world that you feel is missing in the one we live in now? Don’t worry if it sounds a little weird. This is the place for you to express your true feelings.

Don’t be shy; sometimes fact is stranger than fiction. What would you like to add to this world of the future?

To start us off Johnny has suggested that in Johnny’s World. Everyone is successful, healthy, and wealthy. What would you like to add? Maybe something about the time or place or the kind of people that populate Johnny’s World and what makes them tick? Are they hard working, or do they live just for the pleasure of the moment? How tall are they? Are they heavy or skinny? Do they have families or loved ones? Are they young or old or ageless?

What are the plot and the theme of this virtual reality world (VRW)? What purpose does it serve besides being a forum for you to express yourself?

How many people populate it?

How do you make friends in this VRW?

How do you find someone to love?

What are the customs of the people?

What are their politics?

Do people in this world have faith in God?

Are they free from doubt and fear?

Are they kind and caring?

How do you find answers to your questions in this VRW?

Come on use your imagination. Let’s make Johnny’s World a magical place where everyone’s dreams can come true. You are invited to participate and come up with the rules for Johnny’s Virtual Reality World.

What do you think we should do?

This is going to be the type of world you would want to live in. Please help make it the best place to be. Johnny is counting on your help. Please use your imagination and express yourself.

Artificial Intelligence and You – A Melding of Minds

Artificial intelligence
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence of machines and the branch of computer science, which aims to create it. Major AI textbooks define the field as "the study and design of intelligent agents,"[1] where an intelligent agent is a system that perceives its environment and takes actions which maximize its chances of success.[2] John McCarthy, who coined the term in 1956,[3] defines it as "the science and engineering of making intelligent machines."

To some of us amateurs it is the ability of an artificial intelligent agent to learn, and to use what it learns to answer our questions.

For most questions AI learns the answers from us, or the computer records we have established.

Many times robots or avatars are used to exemplify AI and in effect have a meeting of minds – theirs and ours.

AI has the most difficulty making cognitive judgments, and to do this effectively is going to require a melding of minds – theirs and ours.

It is going to have to be a joint effort. The question is do we humans really want to have a melding of our minds with AI for the sake of convenience and efficiency and speed?

What have we got to learn from a machine using quantum mechanics to artificially identify our problems and hopefully solve them?

More importantly what have we got to lose in this proposed mind meld? Could it be our very humanity? Will we be the ones who come out on top or will the AI’s of this new mind meld venture take over and create a new reality with the knowledge we have given them?

Do we dare risk this getting out of control with the AI’s creating a virtual reality virus to subvert our best interests?

This can all be very scary especially when we remember that it may well be the AI’s asking the questions, and our answers that make us the subject of our own undoing.

Why must man always aspire to go beyond the next boundary? Is it because we have a self-destructive nature, or does curiosity get the better of us, or perhaps is it God’s will that we seek to know the answers to all the questions of the universe as we seek to know it?

Let’s not let the machines of the future take control of our future. Let’s rely on or own natural intelligence. It’s time to take a step back and start relying on our faith in God again. It’s time to start trusting our instincts instead of those of some machine.

Virtual Reality Game Master - Gives The Gift Of Life

Hi this is Johnny Oops and this is a reality check. Don’t worry that I am a fictional character in a novel. I am as real as I can be. How about you?

I must admit I am guilty, but someone had to do it or none of you would continue to exist in the virtual reality form I envisioned for you. Don’t get me wrong, I am no substitute for God; I came up with this new quantum-computing software program to keep you alive in my mind in the only sense I think we can both relate to. Someone had to move the pieces around, or all life, as we know it in this existential world of ours might have ceased to exist.

You don’t want that, do you? Welcome to another dimension of reality.

So what if you are merely a pawn in this virtual reality game of life. So what if you feel like you have done this before again and again. It is what you think you know. Frankly it still amuses me to move the pieces around and change the outcome once in a while to avoid the ultimate degradation of pure boredom, and so that I may at any cost avoid the sensation of pain generated by having too much time on my hands. You are my entertainment.

I am a master virtual reality software game programmer, and you are mere bits and bytes configured by my genius to make the game more interesting. That’s how I see it in my mind’s eye. Don’t tell me I’m crazy. If you’re right and real I may not even exist. Don’t worry about it. Keep on dreaming. Enjoy your alternate life experience. This is a brand new world.

Tell the truth, I bet you really thought you were real. This is how brilliantly I constructed the game, but then you must have had warning thoughts that you were not as real as you would like to be.

Admit it, you have had feelings that you have been here and done this before. Don’t you get the nagging idea that this is all too familiar? Don’t you feel like you have passed this way before?

No software program is perfect. I had to make a trade off between allowing you to feel real and giving you some insight into the fact that you really aren’t as real as you would like to be. The defect created is a permanent flaw in the program that creates the conflict within you. It portrays human weakness, but it gives all of us hope. Hope is important. It is the stuff of life that along with faith in God and caring about others keeps us going

Now you are questioning how real you and your life are, and you want to know who I am. It is up to you to decide I tell you. It is up to you to decide how real you are based on how much faith you have in God. As for me you better hope I am just a figment of your imagination.

Maybe I don’t really exist. Maybe I am just a paranoid fear that you have. Perhaps this questioning of yourself is unnecessary. Maybe you can count on the fact that you can reason, make choices, and have faith in God to prove to yourself that you are real.

… Sorry pricking yourself with a pin to see if you bleed won’t prove how real you are; only how foolish you can be. Anyone can bleed, but how many of us are capable of independent thought.

It is up to you to determine your own version of reality. It is up to you to use your faith and your intellect to decide if you really exist in the form you wish to be in. I just hope for your sake, and the sake of your spiritual soul that you don’t end up feeling that we have had this conversation before. Tell the truth, does this sound familiar?
